The aim of the Shamanic Retreats is not to incite to the consumption of Ayahuasca whose use is traditionally reserved to the sole healer. Taking of Ayahuasca is authorized in certain countries but prohibited in France, the purpose of this site is not to encourage its consumption.
In the Amazonian tradition, the patient is responsible for his or her process, so it will be up to you to decide whether or not to take Ayahuasca; Knowing that there is no binding character. In Peru Ayahuasca is a national heritage.
Before participating in a retreat
You must agree with our medical guidelines. They are set to ensure you start your retreat in the best conditions. When making your reservation, you must inform us of your state of health.
Before and during your retreat.
Minimum one week before and throughout your retreat do not consume: oil, fat, salt, sugar, dairy products, pork, meats (except chicken and some fish), acid or sweet fruits, spices , vinegar, ice cream and alcohol This is also accompanied by the absence of recreational drug use and act or sexual relations. Some medecines are not compatible with Ayahuasca, so if you follow a medical treatement, it is necessary that you inform your doctor in order to respect the medical guidelines and thus guarantee your maximum safety.
If you have cardiovascular problems, high blood pressure, it is not recommended to participate in ceremonies because Ayahuasca increases blood pressure and therefore increases the risk. People with diabetes have more risk related to the absorption of Ayahuasca. The use of certain substances present in Ayahuasca can alter blood sugar levels via hypoglycemic effects. These substances may modify the amount of natural insulin or that of an antidiabetic drug. People with severe diabetes should not take Ayahuasca. People with less severe diabetes should inform us before booking to make the necessary arrangements.
Medication that is unsafe with Ayahuasca
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs): 4 – 6 weeks prior
Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs): 6 or 8 weeks prior, 4 weeks after
Other Anti-Depressants: 6 weeks prior, 4 weeks after
Central Nervous System (CNS) Depressants (and sleeping pills): 3 to 4 weeks prior
Anti-hypertensives (blood pressure medications): 2 to 6 weeks prior, depending on medication
Antibiotics: 48 hours prior
Under no circumstances should recreational drugs be combined with Ayahuasca.
It is not suitable for women to drink Ayuahuasca during their menstruation. In order to follow the ceremonies without interruption, we recommend that you take this into account when choosing the dates of your retreat.
